The Metamorphosis Ensemble is a professional chamber music ensemble made up of ChiMOP staff and friends for the purpose of promoting awareness of and raising funds for ChiMOP’s educational programs. The group will serve as the resident professional ensemble of the Chicago Metamorphosis Orchestra Project.  The ensemble will rehearse at Mary Lyon Elementary School, home of ChiMOP’s Chicago Public School partner and all rehearsals will be open to students, families, and the community. The group will perform fund raising concerts throughout Chicagoland.

The ensemble’s first performance is a ChiMOP benefit recital on November 9 at 2PM at the Performing Arts Center at The Garlands in Barrington, IL. The program will feature the Bruch Eight Pieces for Clarinet, Viola, and Piano (Op. 83) and the Ewazen Trio for Trumpet, Violin, and Piano. Performers will include ChiMOP Artistic Director Thomas Madeja (trumpet), ChiMOP teaching artists Sean Diller (viola) and Janet Lyu (violin), as well as Cory Tiffin (clarinet- Las Vegas Philharmonic, Loyola University) and George LePauw (piano- International Beethoven Project and Festival, 2012 Chicago Tribune Chicagoan of the Year).
